Babou Kimono - sand land
Upcycled Silk, One-of-a-kind, all artisan-made garments.
For chilling by the palm trees and staring at the moon.
Get two kimonos in one! Our Babou reversible kimono is up-cycled from vintage sarees (a traditional Indian silk cloth). The long loose fit makes it the perfect piece to wear on any occasion, to add a splash of color and feel comfortable as well. Style it with a black or white top or over your bikini in summer and a warm high neck in winter. This unique item is handmade by the saree-suppliers Vimla, Kamla, and Babou who run a small family business in Northern India.
Babou is a loving father of two sons who lives in Pushkar, Northern India. His passion for colors and textiles was passed on to him by his mother Vimla who was working with vintage fabrics already in the 80s. Together they select the most beautiful high-quality vintage fabrics for us and turn them into unique pieces.

Shared value creation: Each of our items comes with a picture of the specific person or family business that created the product. In order to create mutual appreciation and a connection between both ends of the value chain we would appreciate it immensely if you could send us a picture of you wearing the item which we could share with the artisan. Knowing how the story of the item they created continues, would create value on their end.
